🛑 Watching Bad News About Africa
Stop watching horrible, negative, fearmongering, and just plain bad news about Africa.
Because you will find what you’re looking for if you look hard enough.
Do you (you know who you are) really want to live in Africa?
You do? But sometimes scary stories get the better of you while you plan, right?
Hey, it happened to us, too, no shame in that. What helped us day by day was changing our mindset about living in Africa.
And now we’re almost 3 years into our new life!
Mindset Is Key
You can change your thinking.
Instead of thinking – “What if something bad happens to me in Africa, or some other country???”
Ask yourself – “How amazing will my life be when I land in my new African country?”
Really meditate on your new life in Africa – see yourself thriving.
How amazing will your new life be eating fresh local food?
How amazing will your new life be reconnecting with your African roots?
How amazing will your new life be for your children making new friends internationally?
How amazing will your new life be snug in a hammock somewhere overlooking African mountains or beaches without a care in the world?
How amazing will your new life be when African safaris are a regular opportunity for you?
Imagine all the beautiful animals you can learn about and the memories you’ll create in pictures and on video.
Amazingly, this is our life now!
That video of us on safari is exciting, right? There’s plenty more where that came.
We’ve made over 200 Africa-life videos on our channel and you probably haven’t seen them all.
I welcome you to binge our content and take notes on anything we documented that’s helpful for your image of Africa, and ultimately, your move to the Mother Land.
Remember something.
Toxic media and news are already trying to limit you – don’t help them by limiting yourself.
That’s why we make the content we do, and you know we’re not the only ones. There’s so much beauty in Africa and we want to show you as much as we can as often as we can!
Use the Internet to Your Advantage
Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened to you.
I don’t know what Yah God ultimately has in store for the Internet, but know this – the World Wide Web is a gift: if you let it be.
This applies to anything.
Want to move abroad?
Want to call Africa home?
Want to start your online business – or any business?
Want to feel and live healthier?
Want to learn how to cook?
Want to find love?
Want to understand the Bible better?
Want to learn a new language?
Want to find expat people thriving in Africa?
The algorithm will help you.
And most of it to start out is completely FREE!
It only costs you the old mindset that it’s all scary.
If you have a can’t-do attitude, if you have doubts and fears, you have to put them down so you can pick up new opportunities.
The one who thinks they CAN’T and the one who thinks they CAN are both RIGHT.
So decide.
Decide to consume nothing but positive content about living in Africa.
Cut yourself off from the rumors, the fearmongering, and the negative news about living there.
Want to move somewhere in Africa? (You know who you are.)
ONLY consume uplifting and constructive content about how to do that, and you can start with our channel.
When you start doing this the YouTube algorithm literally starts to work in your favor, feeding you nothing but the content you want to see, about:
- Safety in Africa
- African food
- African people
- African news
- African homes
Whatever you want…
Whatever.
You.
WANT!
This worked for us and it WILL work for you if you stay focused.
Living abroad in Africa is possible – start deciding that it is and your vision will be better for it.
We don’t know where all of you are going to so below is a resource for your research.
(Comment/Reply with what country you are looking at so we can celebrate you!)
Lists like the above 10 least corrupt African countries helped us narrow down the places we wanted to live in and visit. You don’t have to homestead either or immediately lay down permanent roots. Remember, we lived in Rwanda first for almost a year before moving to Zanzibar!
So if you’re worried about where to go, it’s all good, these tools exist to help you go where you and your family feel safest on the African Continent.
And the more you save, subscribe to, and bookmark beautiful and affirming content/research like this online, the more of it you will see!
It can be anywhere online:
- YouTube
- Twitter X
- TikTok
- Google Alerts
It doesn’t matter. When you’re online what you look for will find you, and before you know it, your vision for living in Africa comes closer and closer into view.
And you will be better equipped to implement the strategies necessary for your move across every aspect of your life.
This is your life, your vision for expat life in Africa. Not CBS. Not MSNBC. Not CNN. Not ShadeRoom. Not anyone else’s.
It’s your vision.
Most Important Tip
We’ve said it before and we will say it again: be intentional and become the Designer of your world.
Know yourself. A goldfish may know itself better than you. It knows it requires an environment of freshwater.
Where is the best environment for you in Africa?
Have you taken the time to reflect on what kind of environment you require to succeed? Define this for yourself – I get the BEST of me when...
What environment do you need? Not what you can stand but what you PREFER? Take the time to reflect and get clear on that.
We help you gain clarity for your life in Africa in our free ebook.
(We just launched a new video series where we break down the basics and practical applications found in the book. You can watch Part 1 NOW!)
Then use your life designs to find overlap in the African countries you’re researching. If you can’t find exactly what you want, what’s the next best thing?
You might even realize some of the things you thought you needed are just wants and you can thrive without them perfectly fine.
That happened to us too, and a lot of those things we don’t miss. We’re doing better than okay here in Zanzibar in this season of our lives.
Get clear on your vision. Design your ideal life in Africa. It’s POSSIBLE!
Thank you for reading.
